Originally sitting on the Connecticut River in East Hartford, the Hills-Galloway House circa 1693, was built for Lt. Jonathan Hills and his wife Dorothy Hale.

This beautiful room was salvaged from a derelict circa 1803 Federal house in Bellingham Massachusetts. We tried to move/save this house, but we were unable to do so due to circumstances out of our own control. However, being able to preserve the room in its entirety was an achievement. The name “Lt. Galloway” comes from my grandfather who was a Navy officer in WW2 and a lover of old houses. Enjoy the gorgeous denticulated cornice, paneled wainscot, Federal style mantle in this luxurious space. With views out to the courtyard below this room really shines in the southern light.

This room was also salvaged from the circa 1803 Federal house in Bellingham Massachusetts. Unlike, the Lt. Galloway, this room is a little less formal, showcasing simpler moldings yet still very refined. The Amsterdam Green linseed paint brings out the rich character of this room. With views out to the courtyard below this room shines in the southern light.
