The Hills-Galloway House c. 1693
-
The HG house is a magnificent example of First Period and Georgian Architecture.
Originally sitting on the Connecticut River in East Hartford, the Hills-Galloway House circa 1693, was originally built for Lt. Jonathan Hills and his wife Dorothy Hale.
In 2020, we began the five-year process of lovingly relocating the home to Savannah, GA where we went through extreme measures to ensure authentic historical preservation.
-
The HG house has four suites, two larger suites in the Captain Hills and Georgian suites that include a nice size sitting and bedroom, or two smaller suites in the Lt Galloway and Bellingham that comprise of a large single room. Although there are no kitchens in these suites like the Nichols House, a small fridge, coffee pot are in the suites. ALL SUITES HAVE PRIVATE ENSUITE BATHROOMS.

The HG house has a fantastic attic lounge for all guests to use that are staying in the house. Featuring supple leather chesterfields and wing back chairs, enjoy a board game, book or beverage. The two story back porch and courtyard are also great spots to relax.
The Nichols House c. 1884
-
The Nichols house is a prime example of Italianate architecture of the Victorian Era in Savannah. Intricate corbels and dental molding adorn the outside, while the inside boasts original ceiling medallions, crown molding and beautiful heart pine wood floors.
Built for William Nichols in 1884, the house is rich in history. William was the oldest son of George Nichols, the head printer in Savannah during the Civil War. William continued the family tradition to become a prominent printer in Savannah as well, hence the name Printmaker’s Inn. The house was, for a time, owned by Nat King Cole, and has also served as a local community center for underprivileged youth in Savannah.
-
The Nichols house has four large suites all including kitchens or kitchenette. Perfect for families or guests that want ample room to spread out. ALL SUITES HAVE PRIVATE ENSUITE BATHROOMS.
-
While all the suites are on the large side, there are no interior common spaces in the Nichols house. However, the back courtyard and front porch are great outdoor spaces all can enjoy privately or together!
