5 things to do in Savannah this February!

There is ALWAYS lots do to in Savannah this time of year, now that the "cold" weather is over and our spring has already started.  We wanted to give y'all something else to think about besides the normal tours and attractions!

We are huge history buffs, here at the Printmaker's Inn and that is one of the reasons we chose Savannah for our location.  Here is something we are really looking forward to...The Colonial Faire and Muster is coming to town!  The faire is from February 5th-7th and is at the gorgeous Wormsloe Historic Site.  Wormsloe in itself is worth a visit on any trip.  However, at the faire you will get to experience life in the lowcountry as it was in the 18th century.  There will be military encampments, Sutler's Row (old school shops), craft demonstrations, military demonstrations, period music and dance. The faire schedule is as follows: 10AM-4PM Friday-Saturday.  Prices range from $4.5-10 on Friday and are FREE on Saturday and Sunday.  They also have concessions available if the historic musings give you a hankering for a picnic in this 18th century environment.  If this picturesque display of history is not "your thing," don't worry, there are many more activities on the docket this month.

The Tybee Run Fest is also happening in February and is loads of fun for those folks who like to run.  It is on the 5th and 6th so it could coincide with your visit out to Wormsloe for the Colonial Faire and Muster!  The Tybee Run Fest has a 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, 2.8 Mile Beach Run and or 1 Mile Run.  You have the option of choosing one event up to all 5 events.  For more information or if you are interested in registering you can go to their website.

Another event that the Printmaker's Inn is super excited to talk about is the Davenport House "potable gold" wine tour!  Who wouldn't want to get to tour a beautiful old house (1820) that started the renovation movement here in Savannah while getting to taste some wine?  The Davenport House is offering their "potable gold" wine tour February 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, and 19th at 5:30PM.  It entails a 75 minute tour where you can experience the historic atmosphere of the Davenport House while learning about the Savannah Madeira tradition.  You will be able to sample two types of Madeira wine and see the house at dusk including spaces usually off limits to museum guests.  Tickets are $20 and patrons have to be OLDER THAN 21 for obvious reasons.  If presentations on Valentine's Day weekend sell out they will offer another presentation at 7:30PM.

Three down and two more to go!  Our fourth fun thing to do this coming month is the Second Saturday Art Walk.  It all starts at Rocks on the Roof, a great rooftop bar, at the Bohemian Hotel.  You will receive a free "pour" of wine and be welcomed by artist, founder and producer of the Savannah Art Walk, Tiffani Taylor.  At 5PM guests will head over to Tiffani Taylor's gallery and on to other galleries that participate.  The evening concludes at The Andaz with another free "pour" of wine and a raffle at 8PM.  Fun fact for the evening is all guests who go to 10 galleries will be entered into a VIP raffle.

Finally, our fifth event this February is the Valentine's Day Bar Crawl "Cupid is Stupid."  Join other singles, couples, or whoever just wants to get their drink on with Stafford Promotions.  Spend the night/afternoon going to 12 Savannah bars and enjoy one drink at each stop.  The first 250 folks to make it to the after party with a complete scorecard gets a FREE T-shirt.  There is a $5-$25 registration fee depending on how early you sign up.  It starts at 4PM and goes till 11PM.

We have many other recommendations here at the Printmaker's Inn so don't be afraid to message us if you have any questions.

Lastly, there is another big event in February, The Savannah Book Festival, which should be a blast.  We wrote another blog post about it and you can check it out here!
